Planting Schedule & Tips

Ready this month: February

Mother Nature isn't quite done with below freezing temps.

February is clean up month for us - preparing the greenhouses for soil & transplanting

March
April

Cold Crops: Cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli, lettuce, and spinach

Don't forget onion sets and seed potatoes

  • Make a plan for what you want to plant and where

  • Flower beds should be left alone to protect younger sprouts trying to come up

  • Leaves and mulch will protect from a late freeze

  • When tilling your vegetable garden, you can add lime to sweeten the soil where tomatoes were planted

  • One pound of lime covers over 100 square feet

  • Find a place to keep grass clippings, they are a great way to keep weeds down and add nitrogen back into the soil
